In just four short years, the Elite Invitational 5K (formerly sponsored by Seagate and Synaptics) has become one of the two or three fastest, and most competitive, 5K road races in the world. In 2008, twelve men broke 14:00 minutes, by far the most of any 5K in the world last year.
Our pancake-flat and fast four-loop course, deep competition, and athlete-friendly amenities have attracted some of the planet’s most talented distance runners. In the three-year history of the event, ten Olympians have competed here. They include U.S, marathon standouts Ryan Hall and Blake Russell, middle distance stars Shannon Rowbury and Nicole Teter, and talented young U.S. standouts such as Scott Bauhs. In addition, numerous international elites—World Championship medalists, national champions, and national team members—have toed the starting line.
