Start Thanksgiving Day with a new tradition that the whole family can enjoy – The Applied Materials “Silicon Valley Turkey Trot” and The Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Kids Fun Run. While the adults participate in the 5K or the 10K, children can take part in the Children’s festival area and the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital “Kids Fun Run.” The Kids Fun Run consists of three courses in the following distances; children ages 2-3 run 30 yards, ages 4-7 will run a quarter mile and children ages 8-9 will run a half mile. The first race will begin at 10:30 a.m. with the 2-3 year olds racing first. You can register for this event online.

The children’s Festival area will have children’s activities which will be run by the Silicon Valley and Palo Alto YMCA, The Fit Kids Foundation and Nuffer Fitness. Children’s Activities will begin at 9:00am. Stage activities will include- Lisa Kreisler from KBAY, children’s yoga at 9:10am from Downtown Yoga Shala, children’s Zumba at 9:30am from NorCal Dance, a Fit Kids Foundation raffle at 9:45am and a Radio Disney performace at 9:55am! This is not a drop in area; a parent/guardian will have to accompany their children at all times.

2. Where do I register for the Kids Fun Run on race day?
You can register your child at the main registration area before 9:00 a.m. or at the Kids Fun Run area any time after 9:00 a.m.
3. If my child registers for the 5k/10k race, can they still run in the Kids Fun Run?
No, each child must register and have a Kids Fun Run bib to participate in the Kids Fun Run. However, the kids festival area and activities are open to everyone.
4. Where do I pick up my bib and t-shirt?
The bibs were not mailed out this year. You must pick up your bib at one of our 9 days of packet pick up located at Sports Basement 1177 Kern Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94085 (408)732-0300 November 10, 11, 12, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21 The pick up hours are 10am to 5pm each day. All Kids Fun Run t-shirts will be distributed at the expo with bib pick up.
5. When and where does the Kids Fun Run take place?
The Kids Fun Run starts at 10:30 am in the Kids Festival Area.
6. How far is the Kids Fun Run?
2-3yr olds will be walking/running 30 yards; 4-7 yr olds will race .25 mile; 8-9 yr olds will be racing .50 mile.
7. Can I run with my child?
Parents may run with their children in the 30 yard 2-3 year old race, but may not run on the .25 mile or .50 mile course.
