Mile Marker Opportunity

We would like to extend an invitation to your talented band and/or cheer team to join the Silicon Valley Leadership Group for our seventh annual Silicon Valley Turkey Trot 5K and 10K race on November 24, 2011.  This year, mile markers will be an exciting new addition to the race, and each mile will feature the performances of a high school band.  If your school also has a cheer team, we would also welcome both marching band and cheer team participation.

This presents an exciting opportunity for your marching band and/or cheer team to contribute in making this a successful community event while also raising school funds. All funds from the Turkey Trot will benefit the Santa Clara County Children’s Health Initiative, Second Harvest Food Bank and the Housing Trust of Santa Clara County. Each school participating in the mile markers will receive a $500 donation. Participating students are also eligible for volunteer credit, will receive a free sweatshirt and food on the day of the race. The only time commitment is on the actual day of November 24th: volunteer check-in will be at 6:30 a.m. and mile marker performances will be roughly from 7:50-9:30 a.m. depending on the mile. There is a minimum of 20 participants required.

Please note there are six mile marker points and sign-ups are on a first-come first-serve basis. Additional event details are available at www.svturkeytrot.com. If your school would like to participate, please RSVP to Nell Triplett at ntriplett@svlg.org or 408-501-7883 by November 1st so that we may send you an agreement.
